Saraki advices FG on actions to take on ASUU Strike

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has wants the Federal Government
to honour its agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities,
ASUU.
Saraki gave the call while advocating for an end to the crisis
between the Federal Government and ASUU which has led to an industrial
action by the latter.
Speaking on the floor of the Senate during yesterday’s plenary, the Senate President also urged ASUU to find an amicable solution to the crisis in the interest of Nigerians.
“Apart from calling off the strike, it is important for the Federal
Government to honour the agreements they have reached with ASUU as soon
as possible so that this matter can be resolved. ASUU should also bear
in mind the interest of all Nigerians and ensure that they find an
amicable solution to this,” he said.
ASUU had last weekcommenced an indefinite action over Federal Government’s failure to honour the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, signed between both parties in 2017.
